The Rare code post...
Previous | Next by ben 05 February, 2010 - 12:22 PM

so I know i don't do this often, but i had to write this up somewhere... I just started using VS 2010, and I'm having an issue with adding a project reference to a WCF Service project... it works fine when i reference the project in another Class Library, but when i add the reference to the project, it doesn't work... just simply does not let me add the "using" in my service class...

i've tried a clean project, i've double checked my spelling... the intellisense even lets me add it, until i compile 1 time...

so weird...

Stupid question: Have you looked at what is in the refernce.cs file to make sure you actually have a proxy? And does the command line proxy generator produce the same thing? There are many thousands of ways to unintentionaly fuck up WCF proxy generation. Always make sure the WSDL looks ok first too. If you want to email the project I can probably help.

I found out it was the target framework... VS 2010 decided that a WCF Service project wanted to aim at ".Net 4.0 Client Profile" instead of the regular framework... once i changed that, it was fine...
